Certified Nurse Midwives
Giving personalized care and guidance through pregnancy, childbirth, and all aspects of female reproductive health is the role of the modern midwife.
Trained and licensed to provide care in all areas of women’s health, our midwives guide you through all the seasons of your life. All of MemorialCare Medical Group’s certified nurse midwives (CNM), can provide routine check-ups, gynecological examinations, contraceptive and birth control counseling, as well as labor and delivery care. They offer comprehensive support and care from the teenage years, all the way through menopause.
A holistic partner in your pregnancy journey, MemorialCare Medical Group’s midwives are (bachelor’s or master’s level) practitioners certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. They are standing ready to serve each mother’s unique needs and preferences from a healthy, low-risk pregnancy through birth and postpartum.

Your health is important to you around the clock—not just during office hours. Our system-wide electronic medical records can be accessed by providers at any MemorialCare patient touch point. Diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy - Hysteroscopy is an outpatient procedure used to diagnose or treat problems of the uterus. It is performed using a thin, lighted telescope-like device inserted through the vagina into the uterus. It is used for:
- Removal of fibroids to treat both abnormal uterine bleeding and infertility.
- Resection of submucous myomas - Treatment of uterine fibroids that may be causing infertility.
- Endometrial polyps - Polyps are benign tumors that grow in the lining of the uterus. Hysteroscopy is used to remove them.
- Edometrial ablation - A procedure used to treat heavy or abnormal uterine bleeding.
- Diagnosis of pelvic pain
Laparoscopy - Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery that uses a thin tube which is inserted through a keyhole incision in the abdomen or pelvis to perform operations that used to require large incisions. Recovery times are shorter and patients usually have less pain with laparoscopic surgery. It is used for less complex tubal and ovarian conditions.
Vaginal Surgery
Vaginal hysterectomy is used to treat a variety of gynecologic conditions, including:
- Precancerous lesions of the uterus and cervix
- Uterine prolapse - When supporting tissues and ligaments in the pelvis get stretched out or become weak, the uterus can lower or sag into the vagina, causing urinary incontinence, pelvic pressure and abnormal bleeding due to small fibroids or adenomyosis.
- Endometrial Hyperplasia
- Carcinoma in situ of the cervix
- Fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Abnormal bleeding
- Chronic pelvic pain
Bladder sling procedures - These are minimally invasive surgical procedures used to treat stress incontinence.
