About Me

Amandeep Bhalla, M.D. is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon who specializes in treatment of the neck, back and spinal column with Memorial Orthopaedic Surgical Group in Long Beach. He serves as the Medical Director, Spinal Surgery at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.

Dr. Bhalla’s expertise is minimally invasive and image-guided techniques for degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine; traumatic injuries; and primary and metastatic spinal tumors.

After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Bhalla received his medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He then completed the Harvard Combined Spine Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Bhalla is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

He is actively engaged in graduate education, serving on the teaching faculty at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He serves as Director, Spine Trauma at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Medical Director, Spine Center at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. He is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).

Dr. Bhalla serves as a peer reviewer for the prestigious Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and for The Spine Journal as part of his ongoing commitment to improving patient care and scientific research. He has been recognized by several prominent consumer organizations, including Super Doctors, and was named as a Top Los Angeles Doctor by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2021 and 2022.

He enjoys yoga, skiing, and travel in his free time.
