Tumor ablation is a minimally invasive surgical method to treat solid cancers. Special probes are used to “burn” or “freeze” cancers while avoiding traditional surgery. CT, ultrasound or MRI technology is used to guide and position the needle probe in to the tumor.
The procedure requires a small incision, less than 3mm. When the probe is within the cancer, it is attached to a generator that “burns” or “freezes” the cancer.
When it is determined that surgery is the best option, MemorialCare offers a range of surgical approaches, from traditional open surgery to minimally invasive surgery. We make your needs and patient safety the top priorities and together we make the right choice.
MemorialCare is proud to provide the highest quality, comprehensive cancer care for adults and children of all ages. Our cancer centers are devoted to improving the lives of residents in Los Angeles County and Orange County, California and beyond.
