About Me

Dr. Liakos received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Neurobiology from Cornell University & Medical Degree from Albany Medical College in 2011 where he discovered a passion for cardiology. Dr. Liakos completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2014 and was awarded “Outstanding House Staff,” an honor given to two exceptional graduates. He completed postgraduate training in cardiology at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2017 and was offered the opportunity to join as an interventional cardiologist in 2018 after completing his training. He is certified in transcutaneous aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as well.

Dr. Liakos is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.

His special interests include interventional cardiology, peripheral interventions and transcutaneous aortic valve replacement.

Dr. Liakos has published chapters in academic textbooks on the ultrasound of coronary blood vessels and intracoronary hemodynamics. 

When he is not at work, Dr. Liakos enjoys skiing, running, hiking, golfing, cycling and playing the piano.
