About
I’ve had a lifelong interest in human science and have always wanted to help and heal others. I chose interventional cardiology because it allows me to incorporate many facets of medicine in my practice such as prevention, medication, and procedures. It gives me great satisfaction to see my patients relieved of chest pain immediately after an interventional procedure.
Dr. Hoang earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley, before attending medical school in New York. He returned to California to complete his residency program and a Cardiovascular Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, where he was selected as “Chief Fellow” in 2009. He is also board certified in Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Hoang serves as the Medical Director, Emergency Cardiac Services at MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.
Dr. Hoang has published multiple clinical articles, book chapters, and papers on cardiovascular topics. He holds a patent for an Intravascular imaging device developed through his work at UCI Medical Center.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hoang enjoys playing beach volleyball and golf, traveling, and most of all, making Sunday breakfast with his three young daughters.
As a specialist Dr. Hoang may not be selected as a primary care physicians. Dr. Hoang accepts patients age 18 and over.

I was there 15 minutes early and got taken back very quickly. The nurse took me into a room and took my vitals. After taking my vitals she went through a very long list of my 'meds. She was so patient as I have Parkinson's and unfortuntunately mtake a lot I meds at many different places in my day.When Dr. Hoang came in, he was very informative in explaining the procedure, the watchman, he planned to do. He explained why he thought I was a candidate for the Watchman and the risks vs rewards of the procedure. Dr Hoang impressed me as a very caring Dr who has my best interests in mind and he is very easy to talk to.

Underline the word thorough. He listened to my concerns regarding a treadmill test, and asked lots of questions before concurring. He then called and spoke with my doctor, and stated the necessity of additional tests, and his intention of forgoing the treadmill and why based upon his conclusion of scan results. He took time with me to help me to understand my medical situation and why an angiogram was vital. I walked out knowing for the first time in my life that I have heart disease, but also inherited a doctor that left me confident in his capacity to provide the needed skill set to get me through this.

Dr Hoang is always thorough, friendly, polite, caring, and sometimes funny. His bedside manner is perfect, something the universities are forgetting to teach their students these days. I love the fact that he’s very humble. He doesn’t mind saying “let me check this out first.” As patience, we don’t expect doctors to know everything, but when the doctor pretends to know everything, that’s when a lot of mistakes are made. I love the fact that Doctor Hoang always ask are there any questions? I never feel rushed when I’m with him. He’s very patient. I never leave his office feeling frustrated or stressed. He’s an excellent doctor, and I really really appreciate all that he has done for me.

Had the most unbelievable experience with this doctor.I did my research and picked this doctor based on his experience. I made an appointment and waited 2 months to see him. When I arrived to my appointment they out me in the room and told me the doctor would be with me in a moment. Then a doctor came in, asked some questions, changed my meds, and made some appointments to check on the chest pain I have been having. The doctor then sent me on my way. Also, the "doctor" was wearing a mask the entire time.After leaving and looking at my post visit paperwork, turns out I never even saw the doctor. He sent a nurse in who basically impersonated him. Never once told me the doctor was not available or that I would see a nurse instead.It was the most insane bait and switch I have ever experienced.I filed a formal complaint with the head of the department, who convinced me to give the doctor one more chance, and assured me I would be seeing the actual doctor on the follow up appointment and not the nurse again(who btw was clearly posing as the doctor when I saw him).So I reluctantly decided to give him another chance, since I had done so much research before picking this particular doctor.Showed up to my follow up appointment, got put in the room again and told the doctor would be with me in a few minutes. I waited 45 minutes in that room without anyone coming to check on me. Thats when I decided this doctor had disrespected me and my time enough, and walked out.He put "no show" on the post visit information, but still charged me the copay.I have shared this story with a few people and they are all as baffled as me with how incredibly unprofessional this experience was.I will be filing a formal complaint with the board of medicine.

Did my research, made an appointment with this doctor, and when I showed up to my appointment a different doctor(it was a nurse) arrived and passed himself off as Dr Khiet(even signed off my paperwork as him) only to later discover I never saw the doctor at all. I made a formal complaint with the head of his department, and was convinced to see him again, and that he would be professional about the bait and switch he pulled.When I showed to our “follow up” appointment, I waited for 45 minutes for the doctor to arrive and then left. He didn’t have the decency to give me the time he had already previously wasted of mine. I will be filing a formal complaint with the board because of his bait and switch.I do not recommend this doctor as he is not honest and has no respect for other time.
