National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual, treasured celebration of life that is held in hundreds of communities around the world on the first Sunday in June. It is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families and an outreach to the community.

Normally on National Cancer Survivors Day®, thousands gather across the globe to honor cancer survivors and to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fulfilling, rewarding and inspiring. At the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center, we gather each year to do exactly that. But 2020 presented unique challenges and for the safety of our patients, their families and our entire community, we canceled our celebration.

However, we didn’t want to miss out on the chance to celebrate the strength and resilience of so many survivors in our community. Watch the video below to see and hear directly from our survivors.

At the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute, we help patients navigate life after cancer through survivorship care. Learn more.
