Children's Memorial Hospital Auxiliary

Since its inception in 1946, the Children's Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has raised more than $13 million for patient programs and medical equipment through various fundraising activities to support Miller Children's. These fundraising initiatives include a gift shop in the hospital lobby, a designer fashion show and silent auction, two vendor fairs held in the spring and winter on the hospital campus, and baby photos for patients.

In addition to these fundraising initiatives, they provide a Birthday and Craft Club twice a month and Santa's Workshop during the holidays for patients at Miller Children's. New members are always welcome to the auxiliary as there is always an opportunity for anyone who wants to extend a helping hand for pediatric patients and their families.

For further information about this auxiliary or joining this group, please contact Leslie Schlauch at 562-430-5202.

Memorial Hospital Women's League

The League strives to bring literacy to mothers and their babies at Miller Children's and Long Beach Memorial. Through the Books for Babies program, volunteers deliver more than 3,000 books each year to newborns and their mothers. This program has received praise from former First Ladies Barbara Bush and Laura Bush. The members also support the Stork Club, an orientation held once a month for expectant mothers. The Memorial Hospital Women's League is an excellent opportunity to make new friends through ongoing activities and volunteer opportunities. This group brings together patients with their family and friends to raise money for breast and ovarian cancer research, diagnosis and treatment. Proceeds from the annual Walk have helped to fund the one-of-a-kind Women Guiding Women: Cancer Support and Education program and a new Patient Navigator position at the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Memorial. These programs are available to any woman regardless of their financial situation.
