Support our hospitals as we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic
We are excited to announce that we have re-imagined our signature fundraising event The Beat Goes On. Presented by the Don Temple Family Charitable Foundation, this year's event will now be a virtual gala open to the public and streamed live on the DFOS Gala Website via the MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center YouTube page on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 7:00 pm.
MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center, which was recently selected by Gilead Sciences as one of the first expanded access sites on the West Coast to provide the investigational antiviral medication Remdesivir (RDV) as a potential treatment for COVID-19, has announced the enrollment of its first four patients in the international, multicenter clinical study.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act) that became law on March 27, 2020 provides several enhanced tax incentives for charitable giving in 2020 (and beyond) by individuals and corporations.
Be assured our hospitals and sites remain open and ready to care for all of your healthcare needs. Our hospitals are closely monitoring the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). MemorialCare continues to follow all protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to keep our community safe and reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
And we have access to the best available information to update our guidelines and processes, as needed, to responde to this evolving situation.
MemorialCare continues the expansion and development of cardiovascular care services in Southern California by welcoming two nationally and internationally renowned cardiovascular surgeons, Marc Sakwa, M.D., and Jeffrey Altshuler, M.D., to the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute.

In 1960, visionaries and philanthropic members of Long Beach communities expanded Seaside Hospital and moved it to a new location with a new name - now called MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach. Future vision and philanthropy continue to be key elements in keeping high quality healthcare close to home.
Since 1961, we have been a trusted partner with those in our community to ensure that excellence in health care is available right at home. We do this by supporting patient programs, clinical research, education, medical equipment and capital expansion at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children's & Women’s Hospital Long Beach.
The Memorial Medical Center Foundation has partnered with hundreds of donors and organizations to raise the funds necessary to provide "that extra measure of care" to those seeking care on our campus. We are able to provide this support through the stewardship of your philanthropic dollars. We invite you to join us to make a difference in the health of our community.
Thank you for being part of the healing.
Because of your support, MemorialCare continues to save and enrich the lives of thousands.
