Dao Family Cardiovascular Suite at Orange Coast Medical Center

OCMC Observation Unit Cardiovascular SuiteThe Dao Family Cardiovascular Suite, part of the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Orange Coast Medical Center, features a new cardiovascular observation unit, medical/surgical patient rooms, and state-of-the-art catheterization lab. With these recent upgrades, the Institute now has the most advanced cardiovascular diagnostics to provide non-invasive and minimally invasive treatment options.

Cardiovascular Observation Unit

The cardiovascular observation unit includes seven private patient bays for pre-procedural admission and post-procedural recovery, plus an additional procedural room for bronchoscopies, Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions and other services.

The new cardiovascular observation unit is an integral part of Orange Coast Medical Center’s commitment to providing a compassionate, healing and safe environment for all patients with common or complex heart conditions.

Catheterization Lab

OCMC Catheter Lab Cardiovascular SuiteThe new, state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory is equipped with the most advanced imaging technology and specialized cardiac equipment available today to provide cardiologists with enhanced visualization capabilities while significantly reducing radiation exposure to patients.

Interventional procedures done in the catheterization laboratory include the Watchman® device implant, which help A-Fib Patients manage their condition with little to no medication. In addition, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), which replaces a damaged aortic valve without the need for open heart surgery is performed here.

Hybrid Operating Room

The hybrid operating room has advanced cardiovascular technology to be used as either another catheterization laboratory or an operating room for cardiac surgeries. The versatility of this room helps the Institute adapt to the need of patients, ensuring all patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the most minimally invasive and supportive way possible.
