Wesley M Nottage, MD

Dr. Wesley M. Nottage is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Fellowship trained by Richard O’Connor M.D. in Arthroscopic Surgery, Dr. Nottage has subsequently taught and assisted in the development of the latest arthroscopic surgical techniques for the knee and shoulder.

Dr. Nottage has been in orthopaedic practice in Laguna Hills since 1982. His practice, known as "The Sports Clinic Orthopaedic Medical Associates, Inc., specializes in Arthroscopic Joint Disorders. Dr. Nottage is the Fellowship Director at The Sports Clinic in their ACGME-accredited one year Sports Medicine program. This fellowship program has been in operation since 1991.

The Sports Clinic offers techniques which allow arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic shoulder stabilization (for instabilty), as well as arthroscopic knee surgery including anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. They also offer total joint replacement, as well as fracture management for the injured patient. The vast majority of orthopaedic and sports injuries do NOT require surgery, and are best treated by non-operative rehabilitative techniques. Dr. Nottage and the physicians at The Sports Clinic are at the forefront of the rapidly expanding world of sports medicine, and can help decide the best approach and treatment for each patient.

The Sports Clinic also offers an annual Shoulder Surgery Symposium for updating physicians on the latest surgical and technical advances for the management of shoulder disorders, which draws an international audience. The practice is geared at making the best diagnosis possible, and then choosing a management technique with the goal of returning the patient to their chosen activities or sport as soon as possible.
