Soorena Fatehchehr, MD

Dr. Soorena Fatehchehr M.D., M.Sc., FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with urogynecology surgery expertise who practices in Long Beach, CA.

His clinical interests include treating female pelvic floor disorders such as pelvic organ prolapse; urinary and fecal incontinence; overactive bladder; treatment of chronic bladder conditions including interstitial cystitis (painful bladder syndrome); and recurrent bladder infection. He specializes in assisting women who require specialized care to correct previous pelvic mesh complications.

He received his medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. He completed two fellowships; one in minimally invasive gynecologic and pelvic surgery at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA followed by female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in Oklahoma City, OK. 

Simultaneously, Dr. Fatehchehr completed his Master of Science degree in clinical and translational science at the University of Oklahoma Graduate College and received the Certificate of Faculty Teaching Award for three consecutive years.

Dr. Fatehchehr is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology; an expert in performing advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgeries for pelvic floor disorders and complex gynecological conditions. He is certified on the da Vinci robotic surgical platform as well as CO2 laser for laparoscopic excision of endometriosis.

He was elected to serve as Endometriosis and Reproductive Surgery board member for two years with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopist (AAGL). Dr. Fatehchehr is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), American Urogynecology Society (AUGS), and AAGL. He serves as scientific faculty and a member of review committee for the AAGL annual international meetings. He has authored multiple publications in prestigious scientific journals and has presented his research projects at numerous national and international meetings.

Dr. Fatehchehr is a native to Los Angeles and is fluent in both English and Farsi. Currently, he collaborates with a pelvic floor physical therapist in his office for integrated evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. He is remarkably devoted to providing compassionate and comprehensive treatment of the highest standard to empowering women for improving their pelvic health and quality of life.
