About
Nikolas D. Baksh, M.D. is a dual fellowship trained spine surgeon and orthopedic oncology specialist with Premier Orthopaedic & Spine Group in Long Beach, CA.
Dr. Baksh specializes in the treatment of complex spinal conditions, including spinal tumors, scoliosis, traumatic injuries, and degenerative disease in both adult and pediatric patients. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of spinal pathology, as well as musculoskeletal tumors of the pelvis and extremities. He offers advanced operative care using both traditional open approaches and minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Baksh earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where he served as chief resident. He then completed fellowship training in spine surgery at NYU Langone Health, followed by a second fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Baksh brings advanced subspecialty training and academic experience to the care of patients with complex spine and orthopedic oncology conditions.
Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. In this role, he cared for highly complex spine and oncologic cases while actively contributing to the education and training of orthopedic surgery residents.
Dr. Baksh is an active member of the Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS), AO Spine, the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Emerging Leaders Program, the North American Spine Society (NASS), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Outside of medicine, Dr. Baksh enjoys spending time with his wife, their children, and their chocolate lab. Together, they enjoy exercising, visiting the beach, exploring tide pools, trying local restaurants, and taking advantage of all that Southern California has to offer.
