Michael J Yoo, MD

Dr. Michael J. Yoo is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with additional Fellowship Training in Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery of the Breast. He is dually certified by the American Board of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery – 2 of the 24 Member Boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

 

The second son of two physicians, Dr. Yoo was born and raised in the metropolitan area of New York. He completed his undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and garnered multiple Citations for Academic excellence. He then completed his Medical Degree at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, graduating with high honors while also serving as Class President.

 

Eventually he moved to Los Angeles, where he underwent intensive training in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Southern California Medical Center. During this time, Dr. Yoo studied and trained under renowned facial plastic surgeons, learning the latest cutting edge techniques in Facial Plastic Surgery.

 

He went on to complete further advanced training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic – an institution recognized annually as one of the best hospitals in the United States. During his time at the Cleveland Clinic, he performed independent research on Facial Transplantation and was awarded a 1st place prize for his work at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery in Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

He pursued further fellowship training in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery under the auspices of the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery. He is fully trained and qualified to perform all aspects of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, including complex microsurgery.

 

Dr. Yoo truly has a passion for plastic surgery and has spent a considerable amount of time in the pursuit of perfecting his craft. This has included visiting several renowned plastic surgeons across the United States in order to learn the most advanced aesthetic techniques. He has also spent a considerable amount of time in Seoul, South Korea in order to expand his skill set in Asian Cosmetic Surgery.

 

Outside of work, Dr. Yoo enjoys spending time with his wife, Judy, and twin daughters – Kailey and Lauren. He exercises regularly, enjoys reading the biographies of historical figures and loves an occasional game of poker.
