About
Kristel Dang, NP, completed her nurse practitioner degree at Yale University, School of Nursing in New Haven, Connecticut. She was interested in pursuing a career in nursing after taking undergraduate courses in Women's Studies and Physiology. She later stumbled across Student Health, where she met her first Nurse Practitioner. Around the same time, she saw her mother struggle with her GYN providers and navigating through the healthcare system. Since then, Kristel knew she wanted to make a positive impact with women's health.
I am most satisfied when I can align with my patients' needs and they feel both heard and seen. Knowing that my patients would come back and see me again is a goal I strive to reach. The chance to get to help my patients achieve their personal health goals is a gift and I am grateful for it.
Kristel grew up locally in Southern California and can speak conversational Spanish. Outside of medicine, Kristel enjoys running and has ran three full marathons and several half marathons.

Kristel dealt with a frustrating situation with compassion, ease, and the most efficiency I've ever seen in a well woman visit! I was scheduled for Monday August 19th and was not able to make my appointment and there was a glitch in the system and it automatically scheduled a second appointment without my knowledge. I got a call on Tuesday October 20th around 7:15 a.m. about my appointment "later that day" that I had no idea aboit and was very frustrated. On the medical side for a Well Woman visit she was only scheduled a 15-minute slot to do a pop exam testing in a few other things. She was able to meet me, greet me, show compassion and then stick to that very tight turn around and doing everything she had to do quickly, efficiently and even when I tried to rush through the medication details she, with servant leadership calmly stood her ground and made sure my chart was completely updated and removed of all duplicates and incorrect medications for future. I want 100% recommend her again and would go to her if given the chance.

Kristel Dang NP is very good at what she does! I felt that I understood the situation, her recommendations, the procedure, and what to expect afterwards. I definitely will return to see her and recommend her to others.Support staff-wise - things were fine - but I got a general vibe of disinterest from the support staff (all but one person at the check-in desk, who actually gave a genuine greeting). I dont take it personally, but mention it in case it helps the administration step back and take a look at the work environment / leadership and determine if anything can be done to improve these soft skills. I personally believe that an expression of warmth, not seeming rushed or disinterested, circling back to the patient to make sure they understand and/or are tucked in - these kinds of actions actually do improve patient health and outcomes and will help to retain patients and improve staff morale.

I was not in a good mood when I saw her.. I just found out I had to get another blood test that I was not prepared for and I hate getting those. I’m also a grumpy pregnant lady so I’m sorry if I was rude or snappy! She was amazingly sweet, informative and answered each of my question with such compassion and made me understand without “dumbing” things down. I really appreciate her and I would recommend her in a heartbeat !!

Dr. Dang and the nurse were very personable and helpful. The wait time was about 30 minutes when I arrived 5 minutes before appointment time in a seemingly low volume day but the doctors were very helpful.

When going into to confirm my birth, I expressed my love of herbal tea and the concern that I could not have any. I also had other questions regarding beauty routine. She gave some information but mainly directly me to a website that should have all my answers. The website didn’t have much information about my concerns and no information about tea. I was disappointed that I didn’t get clear answer especially with my number one concern.
