About Me
Kathy Yu-Syken, MD, FACS graduated from the prestigious UCR/UCLA 7-year Biomedical sciences program, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her bi-campus residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the renowned Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. She is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and has published numerous articles in national medical journals in addition to medical textbook chapter, as well as the honor of presenting her work at multiple national Otolaryngology meetings. She is trilingual, and speaks Spanish and Mandarin-Chinese. Additionally, Dr. Yu-Syken is a member of The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American College of Surgeons as well as several other professional organizations. Dr. Yu-Syken’s area of interest and expertise include minimally invasive rhinologic procedures for those with recurrent or chronic sinus conditions. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Otolaryngology Department at Long Beach Medical Center.
