About Me

Dr. Amanda Salter, M.D. FAAP, is Board certified in Pediatrics and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been practicing pediatrics in California since 2008 and co-founded Oso Pediatrics in 2023.

She started her career delivering babies with a local midwife practice. She completed her residency training at the Children’s Hospital Oakland with special interests in pediatric development, dermatology, and gastroenterology. She is currently the Pediatric Chair of the Women and Infants Department at Mission Hospital, on the Board of the Orange County American Association of Pediatrics, and the Physician Lead for the Mother and Baby Substance Initiative.

Dr. Salter was born locally at Hoag Hospital but had been living and studying abroad and on the East Coast before returning to Southern California to practice medicine. When not at work Dr. Salter enjoys running marathons, hiking, quilting, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband, children, and dog.
