The Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) has honored MemorialCare Medical Group (MCMG) and Greater Newport Physicians (GNP) with an AMP Medicare Advantage award. Each physician organization received 4.5 or 5 stars for the quality of care they provide our Medicare Advantage patients.

IHA is a nonprofit, neutral organization deeply committed to advancing high value healthcare. Their prestigious AMP performance program awards—which stands for align, measure, perform—recognize different quality performance and cost-of-care measurements. The AMP Medicare Advantage program honors those organizations that perform well against national benchmarks established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services across a set of 13 Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Part D (Prescription Drug Plan) performance measures.

Out of nearly 180 participating physician organizations this year, less than 25% in our region attained 4.5 stars or higher recognition in this category.

This is one of many accolades achieved by our physician organizations. Pacific Business Group on Health’s Patient Assessment Survey rated MCMG and GNP in the 98th percentile for patient care, including top rankings in Orange and Los Angeles counties. Both groups also earned 4 and 5-star ratings for quality of care and patient overall experience by the State of California Office of Patient Advocate. The Blue Shield Medicare Advantage 5-Star Incentive Program placed both MCMG and GNP in the top three medical groups in CA out of 29 participants. MCMG and GNP were all designated Elite status level by America’s Physician Groups’ Standard of Excellence.
