MemorialCare Medical Group providers have all witnessed tragedies caused by vaccine-preventable diseases. We are also aware of incorrect information, based on unproven scientific studies, regarding the safety and side effects of vaccinations. Declining child vaccinations not only puts your unvaccinated child at risk, but also many of our other patients, including children too young to vaccinate and children with immune deficiencies. We are strong advocates for vaccinating children and fully support the scientifically proven schedule of childhood immunizations recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

To ensure the safety of all our patients, we will only be accepting children that have been vaccinated according to the AAP immunization schedule against 10 communicable diseases with the following vaccines: Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTaP/Tdap), Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), Hepatitis B (HepB), Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Pneumococcal-13 valent conjugate (PCV13), Poliovirus (IPV), and Varicella (VAR). If you do not intend to vaccinate your child, we respectfully ask that you find another group that will better fit your needs.

For established patients that have not fully vaccinated their children, we recommend that you schedule an appointment with our office as soon as possible. Children who have an acceptable medical reason for not vaccinating will remain a part of our health community. We understand that this position may be frustrating for many current patients and parents, however, we must take the best interests of our vulnerable children into consideration.
