Dr. Nilesh Vora is the chairman of Hematology and Medical Oncology for MemorialCare Medical Foundation and is Director of Palliative Care at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where he also serves as Cancer Liaison Physician for the American College of Surgeons.
He received his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where as a Deans Scholar, he served as class president; and Internal Medicine and Hematology- Oncology training at Harbor-UCLA and City of Hope. He is certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Vora is a Consultant Hematologist-Oncologist at all hospitals in the Long Beach area, and is Associate Professor of Medicine at UCLA. His main place of practice is in the Todd Cancer Pavilion.
He takes an active role in teaching House Staff at UC Irvine, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, and St. Mary Medical Center. As an engaged member of ACP, ASCO and ASH, Dr. Vora developed an active protocol for elderly breast cancer patients in 2008, assessing the effects of chemotherapy on these older patients. Although Dr. Vora is well versed in all oncology and hematology diseases, he has a keen interest in GI, Lung, and malignant hematology disorders. He is the principal investigator and takes an active role in many clinical trials at Long Beach Memorial.
