I am a board certified adult psychiatrist. I completed my medical school training at Western University of Health Sciences, an osteopathic medical school located on the outskirts of Los Angeles. I completed my psychiatry training through the UCLA/San Fernando Valley Psychiatry Residency Program in 2006 and have been practicing in a variety of settings since then, including county contracted clinics, a county psychiatric emergency room, multiple inpatient settings, FSP and IMD programs, and private practice. My experience includes treating patients in county systems, as well VA systems and private hospitals including Cedars-Sinai and UCLA.
Currently I work at Community Hospital of Long Beach as the Medical Director of the new Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders program. This program consists of an inpatient unit as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program designed to treat women dealing with mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and postpartum. In addition, I see patients on the inpatient unit and in the partial hospital program on campus. I am also involved in teaching and supervising residents in the onsite outpatient clinic. I also serve as Medical Director at Shoreline Eating Disorders Clinic in Long Beach.
On a personal note, I also live in Long Beach and have two beautiful children, Jackson (age 10) and Amanda (age 6). I understand on a very personal level the challenges of balancing career and motherhood.
