According to American Cancer Society, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women. Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined. Medical Director of the MemorialCare Cancer Institute at Orange Coast Medical Center, Jack Jacoub, M.D. will discuss screening options, who qualifies, long-term effects of smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke, and other environmental pollutants in the air that can affect the lungs and potentially develop into lung disease if gone undiagnosed. He will also briefly discuss the dangers of e-cigarettes, and teen vaping. Dr. Jack Jacoub and Nurse Navigator, Robin Philips, RN, M.S.N., B.S.N., P.H.N., will answer questions after the presentation. A complimentary lung function screening will follow the lecture. Screening is optional. Registration is required.
