Why did you join PFAC?

I joined PFAC because I hold the hospital in high regard for the great job they did with my daughter Tiffany (whom is also a PFAC member) when she had a Pulmonary Embolism at 22 years old. I was her advocate and saw the day-to-day care they gave her as she was the youngest patient in Telemetry that week. She had been misdiagnosed at another hospital, and when she was properly diagnosed and treated at Saddleback Medical Center, I wanted to provide suggestions and thoughts on bridging the gap with the patients, doctors and staff.

Describe your biggest contribution or the project you are most proud of while on the PFAC. How has it/how will it improve the patient & family experience?

I think my ideas as a parent of a very young patient has helped the staff. Also, being on the Emergency Department council and recommending ideas to recognize and reward the amazing staff have helped. There are ideas they had put on a shelf for a while before I was on the council and now I’m helping to bring them back out in the open. I also enjoy helping during Customer Service week and get excited to see the staff’s and patients’ appreciation.
