Adam Solomon, MD, MMM, FACP is the Chief Medical Officer of the MemorialCare Medical Foundation, providing clinical oversight to both MemorialCare Medical Group and Greater Newport Physicians Independent Practice Association (IPA). As CMO, Dr. Solomon leads all medical aspects of MemorialCare’s population health, clinical best practices, disease management and patient and family experience including leading the COVID-19 Command Center for MemorialCare Medical Foundation’s network of more than 200 sites of care located between Torrance and San Clemente. He provides all clinical oversight of COVID testing, vaccination, and virtual health for the ambulatory sites. In addition, he is an active member of the California Hospital Association’s COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force.

Prior to joining MemorialCare, Dr. Solomon was the Regional Medical Director of Regal Medical Group where he was responsible for primary care physician and specialty network access, inpatient and emergency room utilization and quality measurement.  Dr. Solomon has also served as President of the Physician’s Choice Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating communication and cooperation between medical providers and community resources to improve population health.

Although born in New York, Dr Solomon spent his teenage and college years in Maryland, ultimately receiving his Medical Degree from the University of Maryland in 1993. He then went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake. Subsequently, he joined The Doctors’ Clinic, an Oregon medical group with roots dating back to 1903. During his 14 years of clinical practice, Dr. Solomon served as Managing Partner of the group and held several offices, including president, of Mid-Valley IPA. Dr. Solomon furthered his education in the business of medicine at the University of Southern California where he earned his Master in Medical Management degree. He was asked to come back to the school as an Adjunct Professor in the Marshall School of Business to assist in the training of the latest group of physician leaders. He remains Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has been honored with a Fellowship by the American College of Physicians.
