Hysterectomy is one of the most common surgeries among women and is often recommended to resolve serious and sometimes painful conditions such as endometriosis, excessive menstrual bleeding or uterine fibroids.
The goal of myomectomy is to remove uterine fibroids while preserving normal uterine tissue, usually in anticipation of future pregnancy. Historically, this surgery required a large incision, with subsequent increased risks, patient discomfort and prolonged healing time.
Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a safe and effective alternative to surgery. A non-surgical, uterus sparing treatment, UFE blocks the blood supply to the fibroids causing them to shrink.
