About
As a family medicine physician, Dr. Nguyen enjoys having the opportunity to care for patients of all ages: children to seniors. He has a special interest in adolescent medicine; helping young people through what can sometimes be both a physically and psychologically challenging time in their lives. Dr. Nguyen earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, where he was honored with the UCI/National Institutes of Health Research Fellowship Scholarship. While completing his medical residency training in Long Beach, Dr. Nguyen was also proud to be selected as the Chief Resident of Educational Affairs.
Dr. Nguyen is active in the community volunteering his time and medical expertise with several non-profit organizations. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese and speaks “medical” Spanish.

You didn't rush, interrupt, or try to act hurried like some of my previous family doctors, most of whom made patients wait a long time only to finish the examination in 10 minutes. They hardly gave patients a chance to explain their symptoms, making me doubt their professional knowledge; perhaps they lacked confidence and expertise? Today, being examined by Dr. Vinh H. From the lady who checked me to the girl who took my initial info when I was called in. Sorry don't know if she was a nurse or some type of medical tech, but she seem very competent. Needed to have blood drawn while I was there. There was very little wait time and the girl who drew the blood was very nice and very good and her job. This was my first visit to Memorial Care. The Doctor and staff left me with a good feeling that I was getting knowledgable and competent care. Will be switching to them for my future medical needs.

Dr Vinh was very professional and helpful. One note was my experience in booking this appointment. My husband booked an appointment for both of us to do lab work first and have it ready for physical exam. When we arrived, they did not have a bloodwork lab order for me, but they did for my husband. They informed me I would need to speak to the Dr before he can order lab work, which is fine. But my husband has never spoken to any doctor and somehow already had lab order requested. The nurse insisted that my husband had spoken to a nurse and had notes on their conversation, but my husband has never spoken to anyone at Memorial Care except to make our appointments through a call center and to verify his insurance. He was able to do his bloodwork that day and I wasn’t. The rules feel arbitrary when they applied to me but not my husband. Someone was able to call him prior to the appointment to have him change his medical group before the bloodwork, perhaps they can also check for lab orders before patients come in and have to get sent away/have their time wasted instead. Or whoever is working the call center perhaps should not be able to book lab work appointments before they can meet the doctor if this is not standard. Please look into your systems or training since we know all Memorial care staff is very busy. We don’t want to waste your time or ours either.
