For Dr. Ting Yu Yen, medicine was all in the family. “My parents are both physicians. Seeing the impact they had on their patients' health while I was growing up truly motivated me to choose the same path in medicine,” he says.
Dr. Yen has a multicultural background. He was born in Taiwan and moved to Vancouver, Canada with his parents when he was fourteen. He earned his medical degree at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland, completed a medical internship in Taipei, Taiwan and his family medicine residency at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, FL. In addition to English, he speaks Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
“I chose family medicine because I enjoy building trusting relationships with my patients while managing and treating a broad spectrum of medical issues,” he says. He believes in building that trust by being friendly, respectful, patient and conveying to patients that he is dedicated to them and their health. “What brings me the most satisfaction as a physician is being able to witness the positive impact that results on my patients’ health over time.”
When he is out of the office, Dr. Yen enjoys exploring new dining spots and trying new foods with his wife. They particularly enjoy Taiwanese cuisine such as Din Tai Fung! He also enjoys playing and watching both baseball and basketball and adding to his collection of unique sneakers.

MY FRIEND WHO GRADUATED FROM HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL chose Dr. Yen for me and Im very thankful that he lives up to what others have described him. Hes AWESOME: experienced, very knowledgeable, TALENTED, very bright, kind, and caring. His office is busy but seeing him will tell you that its worth the long wait. An excellent doctor will save you money not suggesting surgery, many painful treatments wasting your money and your time and in the end die. My 1 neighbor had a bad doctor and got surgery and died. The other neighbor got a great doctor and didnt have surgery and live healthily until now at 82 years old. They both have the same cancer, pancreatic cancer. Choosing the best doctor is the best thing you can do for yourself. Its a beautiful life.I hope my review shreds some light and help you make a great decision. Lets live this BEAUTIFUL LIFE.

Absolutely loved the front desk staff and the person who did my vitals and got me ready to see the doctor- he was super kind and uplifting. The dr couldn’t see past my previous diagnosis to see that there might be something else happening. He was also dismissive of other things I told him. Saying I don’t understand how much pain it would be- but I 100% do and I explained that to him. Overall, he came in thinking one thing and wouldn’t be swayed.
