About
Thomas Jiang, MD, chose a career in medicine because he wanted to have an impact on people’s lives in a positive, meaningful way. Not only did he hope to help the sick get well, he wanted to be able to provide the tools and information his patients would need to learn how to live healthier lives. Dr. Jiang specializes in pulmonary/critical care because he considers it the perfect nexus point in medicine, one where he can see a spectrum of patients from the healthy to the critically ill, as both inpatients and outpatients.
Although born in Beijing, China and fluent in Mandarin, Dr. Jiang grew up in the United States. He received his medical education from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and his residency and fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Jiang enjoys being an advocate for his patients. He believes good medicine is a partnership, combining a physician’s knowledge and experience with a patient’s personal views and goals in life. He especially enjoys working with his patients to help identify his or her goals and determine how best to attain them. His reward comes when he can see firsthand how a patient has become fully engaged in their own personal well-being, transforming from a passive to an active participant in their health care.
When not at work, Dr. Jiang can usually be found spending time with his very active young son or, exhausted from their play, sleeping. He fondly remembers life before kids, when he could spend hours reading science fiction books, engaging in sports such as tennis and ice skating and playing the piano.

This office is AWESOME! Y’all were able to schedule me as a new patient right away, which was very much appreciated because I was out of meds and struggling. Front desk folks are FUN to work with; nice smiles and warm welcomes. The CNA who took my vitals and got my visit started made me feel very seen and heard. I wish I got her name, she was wonderful and attentive. She also gave a nice visit summary and ensured I knew how to follow-up or call with any needs. And Dr. Jiang was very knowledgeable, informative and had the best bedside manner anyone could ask for. I again felt seen and heard, and really felt like an active participant in my healthcare. He advised me what he was going do, a sleep study and then probably I would get a new machine in September or so. Very thorough. He gave me hope that there were alternatives to wearing a CPAP. I saw Dr. Jiang for a second opinion regarding my pulmonary condition. He was very kind, respectful and listened carefully! Asa result , he was able to provide me with so much information AND provide a list of options. Also, the office staff was very, very kind and patient while I completed the requisite paperwork. This pulmonary condition is relatively new and I have many other underlying chronic conditions that require thought and conversation to work out a plan of treatment. I regret that I did not know of Dr. Jiang at the onset of this condition; I would have most definitely chosen him as my primary pulmonary physician months ago.
