About
Subha Amatya, MD, pursued medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. She went on to complete her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Texas in Houston, Texas. Driven by her deep-rooted passion for helping others and her fascination with the intricacies of the human body, she chose to embark on a career in medicine. The profound influence of her mother, a dedicated pediatrician, also played a significant role in shaping her path. Growing up, Dr. Amatya witnessed firsthand her mother's compassionate care for patients, which instilled in her the same values of providing empathetic and comprehensive care to all.
I find immense joy in observing the growth, personality development, and self-expression of my pediatric patients. In addition, I value every member in the medical team. Together, we work tirelessly to provide comprehensive care and support tailored to each patients' needs.
Dr. Amatya is a native of San Diego, but grew up in different cities across the United States. In addition to English, she is also fluent in Nepali. Outside the realm of medicine, she enjoys quality time with her family, dancing, and engaging in meaningful conversations during leisurely strolls.

Visit was good. Didn’t have to wait long to see doc anfter checking in. Initial wait after apt time was 20 min. They say arrive 15 early which, I was a few min early but that would have potentially been a 35 min wait. The doctor was great. The front office needs work. Vivian specifically was so cold. Rude and helpful I was there at 9:14 and she told me I was past the 15 min mark we argued about it for 2 mins when I asked for a supervisor thankfully and that was at 9:16. Also she could’ve been understanding that is the time the booking lady told me, and last appointment they cancelled on me 30 mins before when I was about to come in! Amazing advocateI was searching for the PCP that I usually go to. However, more than once, the PCP has left the MemorialCare group. I scheduled an appointment with SUBHA AMATYA, MD. I was extremely impressed with SUBHA AMATYA, MD as the doctor was attentive and explained terms in a way that made sense. Doctor dug deep into my concerns, provided me with explanations, ordered lab work and even scheduled a follow up virtual visit to explain the atypical ranges from my results. This far surpassed efforts any other doctor has made. Doctor advocated for my health and I really appreciate that as I didn’t feel like a “patient” or a just a medical number. I really hope that SUBHA AMATYA, MD does not leave the Memorial Group. This doctor has really set the bar high in terms of what my expectations are for my medical visits. Dr. Amatya was very easy to speak with. Not only did she listened attentively to my concerns and needs, but she heard me as well. I didn’t feel rushed by her like she had to move on to another patient. I’ve had doctors done that in the past, did not take the time to truly be there in the here and now for me. She was very nice but wanted to chat too much. Especially when I was at work had to wait 30+ minutes from the time of my appointment time to see her. When it comes to urgent care, I like my doctors to be kind professional but to the point. People use urgent care because they are looking for speediness due to time constraints, pain or uncomfortableness
