About
A native Californian, Dr. Appleby was born in Mountain View, a community near Palo Alto and the Stanford area. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Santa Clara University, he attended Medical School at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Returning to California, Dr. Appleby completed his Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine at UCI Medical Center in Orange, through the University of California Irvine. He then went on to complete a three year Fellowship in Cardiology and an additional year Fellowship specializing in Interventional Cardiology also at UCIMC.
Dr. Appleby has been on staff at Long Beach Memorial since 2010 and he is the co-author of numerous articles on cardiac-related conditions.

You don’t have a finer cardiologist and probably never will, than Dr Appleby. He is truly one of a kind. He takes his time with me and answers all the questions on my list. Heartless wording and bedside manor when my 21 year old son overdosed. He was abrupt and really didn't show much empathy or compassion. He was inattentive to his condition. Yes, I fully known the difference I am an RN as well and have worked with hundreds of doctors. This was 8 years ago and it still sits with me. I am kinda surprised by the review maybe he just treats people suffering with the disease of addiction poorly. I hope he does better now. I lost my son a few days later.
