Stephen C Lui, MD

Stephen Lui, M.D. is board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine. His areas of interest include chronic kidney disease, hard to control hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, electrolyte imbalances, proteinuria, hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis. Dr. Lui was valedictorian of his high school class, graduated with honors from Harvard University, and has published in scientific journals. He received his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, completed his Internal Medicine residency at USC, and completed his Nephrology fellowship at UC Davis. 

Dr. Lui speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese. He serves an active leadership role in the community as President of the Taiwanese Medical and Dental Association of Orange County and is the medical director at multiple dialysis centers in the area. He received a national award from CVS Satellite Kidney Care for being a leader in home dialysis. Dr. Lui feels a strong sense of responsibility for helping optimize the quality of life of his patients, which is a value passed along by his physician father. Dr. Lui is a 4th generation physician and feels privileged to be able to serve his local community.

Dr. Lui continues to conduct research and is an investigator in clinical trials involving novel medications to help preserve kidney function. Dr. Lui is an avid traveler, cook, and sports fan. His greatest life achievement is being a proud husband and father.
