Shi Yu, MD

Shi (Sherrie) Yu, MD is Fellowship trained in hematology/oncology and is triple Board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. “I chose medicine, and in particular hematology and medical oncology, because they combine building meaningful, long-term patient relationships with a dynamic and rapidly advancing body of science,” she says. “Caring for patients during such a vulnerable period in their lives allows me to provide not only medical expertise but also guidance, reassurance, and continuity of care. I have been influenced by mentors who demonstrated the importance of treating the whole person—not just the disease—and I strive to bring that same compassion and attentiveness to every patient encounter.”

For Dr. Yu, the greatest satisfaction she finds in her work comes from developing individualized treatment plans that align with a patient’s goals, values, and life circumstances.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Yu enjoys yoga, spicy food, and spending time with family and friends outdoors.
