Samiya Hussain, MD

Samiya Hussain, MD, studied medicine at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She first became interested in medicine through her personal experiences with her family members. Through her academic years, she continued to be drawn to the field of medicine because of how rewarding it is to make a positive difference in a person's life. She continued to be curious and became interested in learning about the human body’s organ systems. She chose to be a hospitalist because she strongly loves evaluating patients, receiving their results quickly, and treating them as soon as possible.

I love being able to provide support and comfort to my patients by answering any questions they have during their times of difficulty. I genuinely care about my patients and their families and strive to provide them with the best care, work hard to find answers to any puzzling medical presentations, and communicate with them regularly. It is very important to me that patients have continuity in their care after discharge and thus communication with primary care providers and specialists is a very important aspect of my care as well.

Dr. Hussain was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is Bangladeshi and can speak Bengali, Hindi, and some French. Outside of medicine, she enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and cooking. She also loves spending time with her son and teaching him various outdoor and indoor activities.
