About Me
Dr. Ronald Wolf is a board-certified surgical oncologist who specializes in treating liver, bile duct and pancreatic cancer at the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center. He also serves as Surgical Site Director for Graduate Medical Education at Long Beach Medical Center and a Professor for the Department of Surgery, Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Surgery at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
His clinical interests include pancreatic adenocarcinoma, colon and rectal cancers that have metastasized to the liver, surgical treatment for bile duct tumors and cysts, as well as surgery for soft tissue sarcoma.
He received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine and two residencies in general surgery at UC Davis. He then completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he also served as a clinical research fellow. He is the recipient of the National Service Award, Cancer Training Branch from the National Cancer Institute in 1990, 1991.
In 2021 and 2022, he was recognized as a Top Los Angeles Doctor by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
Dr. Wolf served as the Director of Surgical Education at St. Vincent Medical Center, Medical Director of Liver and Pancreas Surgery (HBP) at Good Samaritan Hospital. Later he directed surgical resident and fellowship-level postgraduate training programs at Providence Portland Medical Center until 2017. He moved to assume a similar position at the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute, offering expanded surgical oncology services for the Long Beach community, and continues his work as a committee member of several national organizations involved in clinical trials.
