About Me

Monica Hanna, DO, attended medical school at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, Virginia and went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Riverside.

Dr. Hanna's journey into the field of medicine was shaped by two profound inspirations. Firstly, the influence of her mother, a physician and educator, instilled a deep appreciation for the medical profession. Secondly, a transformative medical mission trip to Egypt during her high school years illuminated the significance of service to the less fortunate and the robust medical infrastructure in the United States.

Growing up, Dr. Hanna observed her mother's remarkable journey from attending medical school in Egypt to immigrating to the United States and successfully establishing her medical career. This resilience and compassion became a driving force, guiding her through the demanding phases of medical school and residency. She aspires to embody the same compassion and grace that she learned from her mother, recognizing it as the cornerstone of a fulfilling medical career.

Dr. Hanna's decision to pursue internal medicine stems from her desire to acquire a broad understanding of the core specialties of medicine. This comprehensive knowledge equips her to be a meticulous provider, adept at coordinating hospitalizations and managing patient care across various specialties.

Being able to take care of patients while they are at one of their most vulnerable times is a privilege. I strive to build strong relationships with my patients by listening thoroughly and explaining complex medical diagnosis, while directing their care with specialists and care coordinators to transitioning patient’s safely home with the support and resources they need to optimize healing.

Dr. Hanna holds a deep sense of privilege in caring for patients during their most vulnerable moments, especially when admitted to the hospital. With a lifelong dream of serving her community, she looks forward to caring for patients in her hometown of Orange County.

Dr. Hanna grew up in Westminster, California and is fluent in Arabic and proficient in Spanish. Beyond her medical pursuits, Dr. Hanna enjoys cooking, baking, dancing, and exploring new destinations. She harbors a dream of attending culinary school in the future.
