The interaction with the provider felt very rushed and somewhat not empathetic. I showed her a picture of my lesion and she stated that it didn’t seem serious. While I didn’t bleed out, I did in fact sustained an injury that may need to be followed up with a specialist since I still have reason to believe it might impact my daily life if it doesn’t heal properly. She also was placing pressure on my wound to see if it would cause pain; it’s still in the healing process and it did in fact cause further discomfort.

The NP did not listen to my son or me. She was very dismissive of our questions and concerns and because of that she almost skipped sharing important information with us until I asked more questions. Additionally, she sent the wrong prescription over, assuming my preteen would want children’s liquid rather than even asking his preference and treating him like his own person. Finally, I think there a still a foreign body in my son’s other ear and she didn’t believe that it was there even when I showed a clear picture of it through the otoscope. She said it was earwax was even though it is black and gray and shaped like a perfect grain of rice which doesn’t look anything like the dark aged earwax typicallly seen.Even if we were mistaken, she didn’t even try to hear us out and was rude and rushed. When I had questions about how many times my son had already had antibiotics, she was very condescending and said that I explained it wrong and since it’s been a couple years that she didn’t need to consider it. I wasn’t even saying we wouldn’t take them. I just wanted to understand whether we needed to. And finally, I was asking about what kind of infection it was because that would determine whether we needed to be more careful plugging ears in the pool or hold off on swimming but instead of answering my question, she again lectured me about asking the question with the wrong terminology. I explained that I was just trying to get the information to take care of my son. After asking two more times she finally answered about swimming. Then instead of coming back in to deliver our AVS or prescription or having our nurse do that which we usually have at memorial care, some tech delivered it and we again missed the opportunity to confirm she gave pills instead of liquid. Now we have waiting 4.5 hours to be seen and then get a CORRECT prescription. This was a very negative experience.
