Lawrence T Tran, MD

Dr. Lawrence Tran is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician who oversees all MemorialCare Medical Group employed Hospitalist Physicians in Orange County. He has garnered recognition as Physician of the Quarter, participated in Physician Leadership Academy, and was appointed to both the Board of Directors of the hospital and its charitable Foundation. Dr. Tran has worked on several initiatives to improve the delivery of care at the hospital and believes strongly in physician leadership to improve the delivery of care in our community.

Dr. Tran’s time spent caring for seriously ill patients in the hospital has encouraged him to focus more towards preventative care. He also strongly believes in the value of longitudinal patient relationships so that he can best advocate for his patients in the community and in the hospital. The only thing he loves more than the practice of medicine is teaching it - to residents when he was an instructor at UC Irvine, to nurses in his role as a physician advisor at the hospital, and to his patients in his own practice. He believes educated patients are empowered patients.

In the few days of the year that he calls free time, Dr. Tran enjoys roller hockey and snowboarding. But most days, he recharges his batteries chasing his two children around or singing off key to embarrass his wife.
