About Me

Dr. Song is a highly skilled and talented plastic surgeon with expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive breast, facial and body contouring procedures. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery under the American Board of Medical Specialties.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Dartmouth College. While he worked to complete his academic coursework, he also spent time volunteering at a local children’s hospital.

Dr. Song then received his medical degree from University of California, Davis, where he graduated at the top of his class. In fact, he scored in the 99th percentile nationally on his board exams. Consequently, his prestigious academic profile secured him a spot in the highly competitive General Surgery/Plastic Surgery program at U.C. Davis.

While enrolled in the General Surgery/Plastic Surgery program, Dr. Song trained under the tutelage of some of the most renowned cosmetic plastic surgeons in the country, including Dr. Thomas Stevenson (former director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery); Dr. Granger Wong (prestigious Harvard-trained craniofacial surgeon); Dr. Michael Wong (prominent body contouring expert); Dr. Lee Pu (internationally-renowned fat grafting expert). During this time, he was the recipient of the prominent Francis W. Noel award for scholarly activity, and in 2011, was the runner-up for the resident research competition at the California Society of Plastic Surgeons annual meeting.

Following the General Surgery/Plastic Surgery program at U.C. Davis, Dr. Song went on to complete a fellowship at the Plastic Surgery Center of Sacramento. There, he focused exclusively on cosmetic surgical and non-invasive treatments for the face, breast, and body.

Dr. Song’s skills are enhanced through continuing medical education as well as by conducting clinical research that has been published in several peer-reviewed periodicals. He has also authored a chapter in a textbook that focuses on the subject of Asian cosmetic surgery. His work has been presented in multiple venues on a regional, national and international level.

In addition to his practice in southern California, Dr. Song has provided reconstructive surgical services to children in some of the most impoverished areas of the world. He has performed numerous cleft lip and cleft palate repair for children in Egypt and has worked extensively in Tijuana, Mexico, providing victims of the Hermosillo Daycare fire with reconstructive surgery.
