About

Juhye L. Kim, MD, is a board-certified neonatologist in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. 

After earning her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Kim completed her residency in pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She performed her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the Regional Neonatal Center, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center – New York Medical College, and served as Chief Fellow, Division of Neonatology and Neonatal-Maternal Fetal Medicine Liaison. Dr. Kim is board-certified in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine.

As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, Dr. Kim has devoted herself to training future physicians in neonatal-perinatal medicine. She has represented her group at Miller Children’s & Women's on various national organizations committed to the high-fidelity resuscitation simulation program.

She is also passionate about neonatal global health and gained the operational experience to treat infants in resource-poor areas through medical mission service in Kenya, Afghanistan, Bolivia, Mexico, and Mozambique.  Dr. Kim sustains this work through partnerships with Helping Babies Breathe and the Vermont Oxford Network. 

Dr. Kim is the lead author on research published on adrenal gland stimulation; hypoglycemia associated autoimmune failure (HAAF); and gestational misclassification, impact on infants. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, AAP Section on Perinatal Pediatrics, and the American College of Physicians.
