Jeffrey Altshuler, MD

Jeffrey Altshuler, M.D., is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of diseases of the heart and aorta. Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Altshuler completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan. He received his medical doctorate degree from Wayne State University, where he also completed his residency program in general surgery. Dr. Altshuler then went on to complete an additional residency in cardiovascular surgery at the University of Utah.

He has authored multiple scientific publications with emphasis on aortic and cardiovascular surgery, as well as minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Altshuler also retains memberships in numerous surgical societies including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Some of Dr. Altshuler’s interests include backpacking, hiking, and bike-riding. He is excited to live in Southern California because his hobbies can be done close to home.

Dr. Altshuler is medical director of cardiovascular surgery at the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Saddleback Medical Center.
