James A. Murray, M.D. is a board-certified general & critical care surgeon with Beach Cities Surgical Associates in Long Beach, CA. He specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgeries with a clinical focus on gastrointestinal disease.
His clinical interests include gastrointestinal diseases using minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic approaches.
He received his medical degree from Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California (USC) and completed his residency in general surgery at Keck School of Medicine, LAC + USC Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in surgical critical care & from Keck School of Medicine, LAC + USC Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center with 4,500 trauma cases/year on average. He is board-certified in general surgery & surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Murray served as the medical director, trauma at St. Mary’s Hospital from 2010 – 2023 and a fellow with the American College of Surgery (ASC).
