About

Farah Shah, MD, is a hematology and oncology physician with MemorialCare Medical Group. She was drawn to the specialty by its complex medical challenges and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients and their families. She also values how advances in cancer care continue to create new treatment options.

Dr. Shah takes the time to understand what matters most to each patient, helping shape care around their personal goals and the milestones they hope to reach.

“I love hearing about the people in your lives and the fun things you do. It helps center both me and you and is a great reminder of what we are trying to work towards together.”

Dr. Shah earned her medical degree from Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, completed her internal medicine residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and completed a hematology and oncology fellowship at UC Irvine Medical Center. Her research has included breast cancer treatment as well as approaches to caring for older adults with cancer.

Raised in Northern Virginia, Dr. Shah is fluent in Urdu and Hindi and has working proficiency in Punjabi and Spanish. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, Pilates, live music, traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with her two cats.
