About Me
Dr. Fady Youssef is a board-certified pulmonologist, internist and critical care specialist who focuses in the treatment of pulmonary diseases and critical illness.
After earning his medical degree from University of California, Irvine (UCI), Dr. Youssef continued and completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UCI.
His research focuses on sleep medicine, critical illness and thoracic oncology; most recently, it was presented at the American College of Chest Physician’s (ACCP) annual meeting. Dr. Youssef was awarded the ACCP’s “Early Career Professional Development” honor credited to pulmonologists demonstrating significant potential at the onset of their careers. He is also involved in training Pulmonary and Critical Care fellows from UCI, serving as an Associate Program Director for the UCI Internal Medicine residency program and site director for the residency program at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.
He has a broad array of interests that span pulmonary hypertension, thoracic oncology, reactive airway diseases, sleep medicine and interstitial lung disease. Dr. Youssef is a skilled bronchoscopist and performs a wide array of airway procedures that include flexible bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound. He is an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physician, the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
He is a requested speaker on the public health crisis surrounding vaping and e-cigarettes and has treated young patients in the Long Beach area for severe pulmonary disease due to chemical exposure from the aerosol used with these products.
In his free time, Dr. Youssef enjoy spending time with this family and serves at community clinics sponsored by the Coptic Christian Orthodox Church for those with little access to medical care.
