Erin Y Jo, MD

Erin Jo, MD was drawn to a career in medicine because of the opportunity to build trust with patients through every step of their medical journey. “I love working in the service of others,” she says. “I put a high priority on using a patient-centered approach.”

Dr. Jo was born and raised in Seoul, Korea and speaks conversational Korean. Her family moved to the United States when she was in elementary school. For a while, she envisioned a career for herself as a concert pianist but her interest in medicine won out and she has never wavered in that decision.

Dr. Jo earned her medical degree in 2021 from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She developed a passion for internal medicine while she was still in medical school, serving as vice president of the Internal Medicine Interest Group which coordinated workshops and provided shadowing opportunities for students. She completed her internal medicine residency in the University of Southern California/LA General Internal Medicine program.

“I am happiest working as a patient advocate to ensure my patients feel heard and understood,” she says. “I am dedicated to open communication and honesty, which I believe is the key to patient-centered care. I want my patients to feel confident and informed during their hospital stay.”

During her time off, Dr. Jo enjoys spending time with my family, going to pilates classes, trying new local restaurants, creating recipes at home, rooting for the Lakers and of course, playing the piano
