About Me

Dr. Ball has been married to his wife, Emily, since December of 2000. Together they have a toddler son, Ethan, who everyday teaches him more and more about pediatrics and childhood development, and baby Julia who was born in May of 2008. The oldest of three brothers, Dr. Ball knew he wanted to be a pediatrician since he was seven years old. He was raised in New Jersey and then moved to North Carolina for college and medical school. He met his wife, an Orange County native, in college and together they moved to northern California for his pediatric training at Stanford University. After a year as chief resident at Stanford in which he supervised the pediatric training of 60 physicians, he, Emily and Ethan moved back to Orange County to be closer to their family. The now live in Irvine, five minutes from Ethan’s maternal grandparents.

Dr. Ball enjoys all aspects of pediatric care, especially early infancy and the toddler years. “Pediatrics is unique in that most of your patients are healthy. The field is a wonderful blend of science, education and interpersonal relationships. The best parts of my day are sitting with new parents and helping to answer their questions, and guiding them through the difficult parenting process.”

When not working in Ladera Ranch, Dr. Ball enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid SCUBA diver, a huge movie fan and a reasonably good cook. He has also recently taken up running, completing his first half marathon in January 2007.
