About
David Friedberg, M.D. is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in complex fractures in the Long Beach area.
His clinical interests include trauma and reconstructive surgery including complex periarticular; pelvic and periprosthetic fractures; total joint replacement; and management of malunions and nonunions.
He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and his residency in orthopedic surgery at New York Medical College in Valhalla NY. During residency, he experienced deep satisfaction from helping people and from the ability to provide patients with immediate life-changing results. He then completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) General Hospital and Trauma Center. There he grew his passion for the creativity necessary to achieve excellent results in even the most complex injuries. Dr. Friedberg is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic trauma by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), and American Medical Association (AMA).
Dr. Friedberg is happily married to his wife, Angela, and together they have a witty son, Ethan and a vibrant daughter, Lyla. When time permits, Dr. Friedberg loves to travel with his family, surf, play volleyball, coach little league and indulge with Lyla in her latest artistic endeavor. He has previously competed as a tri-athlete at the sprint, Olympic and Half Ironman distances.
