About Me
Carol Vazquez, FNP, was first exposed to a medical setting after her father was diagnosed with cancer. She recalls visiting him when he was a patient in the Intensive Care Unit and found herself amazed at the strength and work-ethic of his nurses. She eventually began her nursing career at Harbor UCLA County Hospital in the ICU, where she discovered an interest in primary care. Carol realized that as a Nurse Practitioner, she could make an impact on her patient's lives by educating each of them on disease prevention and overall health.
I take a holistic approach with every patient, this is the foundation and philosophy of nursing. I don't focus on just the symptoms and disease, but the person as a whole: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental strengths and challenges. I aim to help my patients achieve health promotion, disease prevention, and guide them to smarter health choices.
While working with patients, Carol enjoys building long-term relationships, finding answers to challenging symptoms and easing patient concerns. In addition to her time spent with MemorialCare, she also works as a clinical instructor at a local school of nursing, where she finds inspiration from teaching students who are the future of medicine.
Aside from her work as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Carol enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors and exercising. She also loves to garden, relax at the spa, and go on adventures with her husband, two children and her dog.
