About Me
Ashkan Farhadi, MD, is a highly regarded and experienced Board Certified gastroenterologist. He has a Master’s degree in Clinical Research and is a senior member of the American College of Gastroenterology. He has extensive experience as a researcher and professor at several major universities. Before joining MemorialCare, he was a clinical faculty at Rush University in Chicago, where he focused his clinical and research interests on common gastrointestinal problems, namely Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He currently serves as the Director of Digestive Disease Center at MemorialCare Medical Group and volunteer faculty at the University of California, Irvine, where he teaches in the Gastroenterology Fellowship program. He is affiliated with Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center (OCMMC).
Dr. Farhadi has written, either solo or as part of a team, over 100 papers, articles and abstracts for various medical publications and journals. Additionally, he is the author of several books on Dynamic Diet, Positive Psychology and IBS that have been widely accepted and translated into five different languages. Dr. Farhadi holds six U.S. patents with six more pending, all for items designed to improve care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Farhadi enjoys hiking, photography and spending time with his wife and children.
As a specialist, Dr. Farhadi may not be selected as a primary care physician. Accepts patients age 18 and over.
