Antoine N Soliman, MD

Antoine Soliman, M.D., serves as the Medical Director of Miller Children’s & Women's NICU, a part of the Pediatrix Medical Group practice at MemorialCare.

Dr. Soliman was formerly the Director of the Small Baby Unit at Children’s Hospital Orange County and Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at the Pennsylvania State University, College of Medicine, Hershey, Pennsylvania and completed both his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles. Subsequently he completed his fellowship in neonatal and perinatal medicine at the UCLA/Cedars-Sinai program, joining the faculty there to continue his early research efforts in innate immunity and mechanisms of inflammation in necrotizing enterocolitis.

In 2007, Dr. Soliman was recruited to join the faculty at Children’s Hospital Orange County and the University of California, Irvine Department of Pediatrics. In his time there, he helped develop the Small Baby Unit - a unique program of care that remarkably improved outcomes for extremely preterm infants. For this work, he has received recognition and awards by local and national neonatal consortiums.

Dr. Soliman is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the California Association of Neonatologists, and has been listed as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association. In addition, he was recognized as a Top Los Angeles Doctor by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2021 and 2022. 

His primary areas of clinical research include safety and quality improvement in the care of preterm infants, noninvasive ventilatory strategies in extremely low birth weight infants, and newborn infectious diseases.
