About

Alina Shrestha, M.D. was drawn to medicine because it offers a blend of science and human connection. “I love the idea of helping people, not just with their immediate health concerns but with their overall well-being,” she says. “Family medicine stood out to me because it allows me to get to know patients over time. Being able to care for someone at different stages of life and make a meaningful difference in their everyday health is incredibly rewarding to me.”

For Dr. Shrestha, the most satisfying part of working with patients is the trust they place in her to be a part of their health journey. “It's incredibly rewarding to watch patients make progress, whether it's managing a chronic condition, reaching a health goal, or simply feeling better after an illness,” she states. “I also enjoy the continuity of care in family medicine, where I get to build long-term relationships with patients and their families.”

Dr. Shrestha grew up in Nepal, which has given her a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. “It's important to me for my patients to know that I see them as individuals, not just their symptoms or conditions. I take the time to listen and understand their concerns, knowing that each patient has their own unique story. My goal is to create a safe, open environment where every person feels comfortable sharing and asking questions. I’m committed to partnering with them on their health journey, providing compassionate care that not only addresses their immediate needs but also helps them achieve long-term well-being.”

Outside of medicine, Dr. Shrestha loves spending time in nature, whether it is hiking or exploring the outdoors. She adds, “I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures, especially trying different cuisines. Occasionally, I like to paint, though I do it more for fun than for skill!”
