“A Phase III, Multicentre, Randomised Controlled Study of Sonesitatug vedotin in Combination with Capecitabine with or without Rilvegostomig in First-line Claudin18.2-positive, HER2-negative, Advanced/Metastatic Gastric, Gastroesophageal Junction, or Esophageal Adenocarcinoma (CLARITY-Gastric 02)”

Researchers are studying whether an investigational treatment called sonesitatug vedotin (AZD0901), given with capecitabine and sometimes combined with rilvegostomig, may improve outcomes for people with previously untreated advanced or metastatic stomach, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ), or esophageal adenocarcinoma that is HER2-negative and Claudin18.2-positive. Participants will be assigned to receive either study treatment or current standard treatment and will be monitored for how long their cancer remains controlled, overall survival, safety, and quality of life. The study also aims to develop better biomarker-based treatment approaches for gastric and related cancers.
